If you’ve never been to Mooseville (moosevilleusa.com), you’re missing out on some serious creative fun. Founded by author, poet, and creative vigilante, Moose Tyler, Mooseville is a virtual town located in the heart of America. Inspired by a string of female comedians including Carol Burnett and Lily Tomlin, Moose has created several videos and podcasts where she plays every character in town and has written dozens of parody news stories to help bring Mooseville to life for her online-only audience. From local leprechaun and bar owner Toots O’Toole and Police Chief Woody Shackles to Mooseville News Network anchor Mary Weather and scrappy reporter Cindy Scoops, Moose has built an eclectic cast of characters and the result is pure fun.

Mooseville isn’t Moose’s only project. In addition to managing the town and creating all its content, Moose is also writing a “seven-scroll” historical fiction/fantasy series about the Amazon Warriors and how one girl’s rise to power threatens to change their society. The third scroll in the series, Becoming a Warrior, follows 14 year-old warrior Amaria as she finishes her training and prepares to join the queen’s army as a low-ranking suckling. It’s currently available on Amazon in ebook and paperback.

Moose also has a series in progress on Channillo called Papa Herks v. The World. The story is told from a dog’s point of view and is a dark but funny tale about how one dog gets kicked out of the pack and must fight to protect his family and restore his status as Top Dog of his domain. The first three chapters are currently available on Channillo, with new chapters being updated every few weeks.
