I give it 5 Stars!

Magnificent

The View is a totally original and brilliant novel. I disagree with the publisher’s assessment that to the profound, provocative, and poignant narrator, Carl Anderson, life means nothing. It’s true that he won’t countenance what’s phony or shallow. But his heart is filled with love and at 83 he searches for the meaning of life, for discoveries, relevant to his situation. Carl is so masterfully rendered and revealed over the course of the 83rd year of his life that everything from his infallible memory to his improbable octogenarian adventure is told in the finest tradition of realistic literary fiction.

This brilliant novel is a page turner. I couldn’t put it down, staying up through the night to finish it. I could not more highly recommend it.
